Owning the Jura Giga 5

The Jura Giga 5 is basically like having two super-automatic espresso machines in one. The machine features two individual grinding and brewing systems, allowing you to brew two different specialty coffee drinks at once. The Giga 5 comes pre-programmed with 19 espresso and milk-based drink options, all of which can be individually personalized to taste by adjusting the coffee volume per drink, strength across five settings, temperature across three and features automated pre-infusion using Jura’s intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System. Our favorite thing about this machine by far is its incredible convenience and ease of use. Not only does it have dual grinders, but you can brew with beans from both hoppers. This allows you to easily craft half-cafs or experiment with a new blend all your own. An integrated bypass doser ensures you’ll never be caught out by a guest’s particular tastes, letting the machine brew with pre-ground coffee in a snap. If you’re serious about entertaining, we recommend picking up the Cool Control Milk Container, Jura’s upgrade to the milk system, which replaces the thermal carafe with a milk refrigerator for even simpler use. Jura really thought of everything when designing the Giga 5.

Operating the machine is honestly one of the most intuitive experiences we’ve had interacting with a super-auto. A rotary dial cycles through options on the color, LCD display, allowing you to easily select a drink to personalize or brew. The ample 2.6 L reservoir keeps drinks coming with no wait time in between. As on all Jura machines, the cleaning cycles are completely automated, and a warning pops up on the screen to let you know it’s time for a little maintenance. All you have to do is add the designated cleaner and press start and the Giga 5 cleans its own brew group, milk system or descales the boiler system. In all, we’re shook a machine like this exists. We know it’s pricey, but boy does it perform, and boy does it look gorgeous all the while. The Giga 5 is truly at the tippy top of the super-auto game. Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System

The Jura Giga 5 comes pre-programmed to brew an espresso, caffe lungo, latte macchiato, cappuccino, ristretto (or two!), at the press of a button. Each drink can be dialed in to your particular preferences. Coffee strength is adjustable across five settings, brew temperature across three, and volume and pre-infusion per drink.

Beans a la Carte Function

As if the Giga 5’s dual grinder system wasn’t impressive enough, the “beans a la carte” function allows you to brew using beans from each hopper in 25% percent increments. Meaning, you can easily craft a half-caf or experiment with customized blends. A Bypass doser allows you to brew with pre-ground coffee, for even more versatility.

Automated Cleaning and Maintenance

The Giga 5 automatically displays maintenance alerts when the brew group needs cleaning or the machine needs to be descaled. The milk system has an automated cleaning cycle, and rinses after each use. Install a Clearyl Blue water filter in the 2.6 L reservoir to keep the machine producing delicious drinks and prevent scale build up in the boilers.

Energy Save Mode

Catering to increasingly eco-conscious customers, the Jura Giga 5 employs Jura's Energy Save Mode and can be programmed with one of three possible energy settings. This feature will help you cut down on energy costs as well as minimize the machine’s impact on the environment.
